Lets go 2024!

Aaron and I will be entering into as many competitions as possible this year! If you would like to come be apart of the fun, check out our first competition in February 9-11. We will be heading down to the Arkansas river in Pueblo to compete in the Frostbite Fishoff. It’s a week before the competition and I am still confused at a major event that happened a week and a half ago. In a split second, I tripped and fell at my full time job with Colorado Parks and Wildlife. One moment I was walking, the next I was yelling in pain because I had fallen on the hard ground causing both my shoulders to strain and dislocate. I was terrified and confused. Multiple hospital visits and physical therapy classes later, I am recovering and working through the simple tasks like putting on a shirt that take twice as long. It’s hard to realize that some hobbies, gifts, talents, and abilities, whatever you want to call it, can be taken away so fast. So as I am writing this on a Friday night, I am so grateful that I am recovering and may be able to still compete next week for an awesome event…..Long story short, I recovered enough to compete! Aaron and I ended up in 7th and we’re happy with our result but will be heading back next year to take 1st!

In other news, about every year I end up with something in the net that usually doesn’t fit in the net! Enjoy!

Been bout 4 months since I discolated my shoulders and I am happily able to move both shoulders about 80% of normal. Physical therapy…its the one thing that has truly allowed me to speed up all recovery efforts. Out of all the sports I enjoy, fly fishing is one that I will take to the grave and I am unbelievably grateful that I’m able to still cast a rod and net fish. It’s been humbling to realize that the things we have on this earth aren’t going to last forever.
